PSY 33400 - Cross Cultural Psychology Examination and restructuring of the major psychological principles from a cultural perspective. A study of the diversity of development of the individual across Asian, African American, Latino/a, and American Indian/Alaskan Native cultures will be presented. The experience of self, role of the family and community, and the psychology of prejudice will be emphasized. Issues related to the workplace, religion, sexual orientation, ability status, and gender will also be discussed. It will be assumed that the student already has some familiarity with major psychological theories and terminology.
Preparation for Course R: PSY 12000 (or equivalent).
