HIST A308 - American Business History This course examines organized profit-making activity in America since 1607. Topics include colonial business, merchant-agrarian capitalism, the business of slavery, government aid to business, industrialization, railroads and regulation, inventing and marketing, big business and anti-trust, managerial capitalism, modern entrepreneurs, environmental and consumer regulation, merger movements, information capitalism, and globalization.
