PHIL 24500 - Introduction to Judaism This course surveys the development of religious and cultural aspects of postbiblical Judaism. Major themes, movements, practices, and values are surveyed, with specific emphasis on three topics: the history of Judaism to the end of the 19th century; the religious beliefs and practices of the tradition; and Judaism in the 20th century including an emphasis on the Holocaust, Judaism in America, and the State of Israel.
